Sex!
Because let's face it, it's the entries with sex that seem to attract the most attention.
First, the scary. The UAE is planning hormone treatment for gay men.
Next, a somewhat amusing story about marriage in Saudi Arabia.
And finally, the story of a stupid fake pimp in Bahrain. Note how people from other Gulf states visit Bahrain- much as they do Dubai- for leisure activities that would not be tolerated at home.

Hmm, I see that since homosexuality is morally wrong then it must be an illness that requires medication. If immorality is not a natural human condition and actually a biological disorder, I must be a very very sick person.

Interestingly, I've heard that mtf transsexuals are relatively tolerated in Iran, and that the state-run medical system provides medical treatment and so on. Given the ratio of men to men in women's clothing, this was not a "gay wedding," so much as a wedding between a man and a person in the process of transitioning.

dear all-
i feel cheated by dubaiwalla. the heading promised "Sex!", but neither in the text nor in the linked articles was anything even close to S.E.X. ...

At least the headline got your attention! Well, the guys from the first article were stopped before they could get married and the guys in the last one didn't get what they paid for. But at least the guy with the four wives is probably getting some.
I was considering the possibility of regularly collecting the more bizarre articles I come across in the Gulf press. Any takers?
