The New Month Blog Feedback Thread

Importing a tradition of mine (which I will impose on my sister blog as well, although not this month as too much work there), I like to begin each month with an open forum for comments on the blog as such. Insofar as 'Aqoul is a group blog, you can even aspire to having real customer service rather than my abusive replies. Regardless, now that 'Aqoul is a month old (sort of), it seems appropriate to solicit input as to developments desired etc. etc. etc.

Of course, if addressed to me, you can be sure that I will be either non-commital or abuse you. However, generally speaking, as 'Aqoul is not my baby (I'm merely here to add color as it were), and in a more flexible format, feedback and suggestions are likely to be more valuable.

I note some things, as nested comments and the like I know some have requested already, are in the domain of our Mistress, eerie, but even I might be convinced to kick in for some functionalities, etc.

I find it interesting that 'Aqoul provides different and various perspectives on MENA-related issues from economy and politics to religious philosophy and literature. And last but not the least, it looks great.

Wishing you many more months of critical and non-partisan blogging.

more of a technical sidenote...

a link to the RSS feed would have saved me at least 30 seconds of figuring out how movable type spits out its rss data. for the less technologically savvy, this could be an RSS show stopper and for the clueless people, well they don't even know what RSS means.

I took the link off of 'Aqoul because I've been playing with the templates recently and didn't want to publicize in case of error. Lounsbury has it visible though.

LJ has a feed set up already, so do a few other aggregators (to my knowledge). None of these were set up by me, which means that the moderately tech-savvy are still figuring out how enable it for subscription by the non-tech-savvy. As for people who don't know what RSS is, they can visit the site normally.

I don't personally need your deep insight and analysis just this second, but someone on my blog appears to:

i don't mean to offend anyone...but is there someone here who is moroccan or who knows any moroccan women?

i heard that moroccan women are really pretty, but can be quite odd.

I suppose this is as good a place as any to note that as I'm doing intensive Arabic study this month, which at least for me is the equivalent of having my brains stomped on by an army of crazed lumberjacks eight hours a day, I'm not likely to be contributing much this month.
